Controller X V1.5: Multiplatform Controller Support & More!

ControllerX — Update V1.5

Version 1.5 marks a huge step forward for ControllerX, expanding beyond Xbox and introducing full multi-platform support, browser and media controls, and a polished new startup experience.

Major Additions

• Multi-Platform Support – ControllerX now works with both Xbox and PlayStation controllers, including many off-brand XInput devices.

• Platform Selector – A new startup dashboard lets you choose your preferred platform when launching the app.

• Browser Controls – Bind buttons to open websites or local files directly from your controller.

• Media Controls – Use your controller to pause or resume video playback with a single press.

• Changelog Tab – Track updates right inside the program.

• Improved Input System – Completely refactored for scalability and smoother cross-platform handling.

Fixes & Refinements

• Improved device detection and connection stability across controller brands.

• Fixed occasional axis inversion inconsistencies when switching profiles.

• Reduced CPU usage when idle in tray mode.

• Enhanced error logging and consolidated diagnostics for easier debugging.

• Multiple UI and overlay polish tweaks for smoother transitions and feedback.

• General code maintainability and performance improvements.

Looking Ahead — Version 1.6

The next update will introduce full support for RT / LT / L2 / R2 as customizable buttons, expanding the range of actions you can assign and fine-tune.
Further new features are still under wraps for now 👀 — but let’s just say ControllerX is about to get even more powerful.
